Come take a trip into the world of fantasy and fairytale
Welcome to Round Table Stud, a large working ranch and stud farm in the Sapphire Mountains of Montana, outside of Missoula. The property sits on 1200 acres at the base of the mountains and and is owned by five friends, Morrigan, Isabella, Jordan, Elizabeth, and Logan. Most of the property is used to house our large herd of Belted Galloway cattle and our Colonial Spanish Horse preservation breeding herds. The main hub of the property holds the estate house, barns, and kennels and is where our horses, dogs, and smaller livestock call home.
The horse breeds that call Round Table Stud home are the Colonial Spanish Horse (also known as the Spanish Mustang), Lusitano, Thoroughbred, Arabian, Dutch harness Horse, and Miniature Horse. For competition purposes out Colonial Spanish Horses and Lusitanos are geared towards Ranch Versatility, Working Equitation, and Doma Vaquera while our Thoroughbreds are geared towards Eventing, Hunters and Combined Driving, our Arabians compete in Halter, Hunter Pleasure, and Dressage, our Dutch Harness Horses compete in Saddleseat and Combined Driving, and our Miniature Horses are bred for in hand versatility and driving.
Round Table also houses a small breeding program for the dogs that we use on the property for hunting, herding, and pest control. Our breeds of choice are the Standard Poodles, Australian Kelpies, Dalmatians, and a pair of personal breed projects called the Boudreaux Mastiff and the Baker Hound. Our dogs' first job is the one they hold on the property which includes tracking and retrieving of smaller game (mostly bird) for the Poodles, keeping the barns and other structures free from rodents for the Dalmatians, herding for the Kelpies, acting as a bay dog with the Boudreaux Mastiffs as well as tracking wounded stock and game for the Baker Hounds, and large game hunting and guarding the main property hub for the Boudreaux Mastiffs. Along with their main jobs most of our dogs are also shown in the trial equivalent of their home job as well as various other sports such as Obedience, Agility, and Conformation, though our main focus is on the performance events. We do also house a team of four Anatolians that we purchased from outside breeders to stay on the property 24/7 and guard the livestock, specifically when we are away at shows and events, though we don't breed them ourselves.
