Grace is one of the older Poodles we purchased when building our kennel and we purchased her solely based on a stacked photo of her conformation and a video of her on a hunt. She's an absolutely beautiful dog but what really sold us was the personality we saw during the video we watched. During the video we saw an energetic and happy dog who seemed to really enjoy her job and was smart enough to think through any problem the tricky terrain may have thrown at her. So far what we saw in the video has held true for Grace in real life as well. She is an incredibly high energy dog who is always moving and trying to find things to do and being that she is also incredibly intelligent we learned very quickly that she needs to be either in her kennel or attached to a person or she will be into everything and causing mischief. Grace is also incredibly friendly so she will happily trot up to anyone who looks like they may pay attention to her, whether they have a free hand to do so or not. She is an absolute blast to have around the property and you can always rely on her antics to get a laugh from anyone. Out in the field she is a little more serious, though not much, and her energy is quickly channeled into tracking game and retrieving whatever her handler asks. Her intelligence comes in handy because she can easily work her way through the trickiest of terrains to find what she is looking for. Grace is one of our dogs that can do not only upland retrieval but water retrieval and tracking as well. Grace spent her early years with her breeder focusing solely on being a hunting dog and going to a few local trials but now that she is with us she will be continuing her hunting career both in real world hunting and on the trial field at the larger recognized trials we go to. With Grace's intelligence and energy she needs a handler who has the patience to deal with and channel her energy into productive things while also keeping her entertained and engaged. Her temperament is perfect for a working and competition dog but since we purchased her for our breeding program as well she had to check the other boxes for breeding animals, not just temperament. Luckily for us miss Grace checks and exceeds all of our requirements. Her pedigree shows strong conformation lines which accounts for her elegant build and floating gaits and both parents are accomplished hunting dogs so we know she has the ability, pedigree, and looks to back up her temperament. When we purchased Grace she was already graded and passed for all recommended tests. Grace is a fantastic dog and a spectacular addition to our competition, working, and breeding strings and we can't wait to see what she achieves with us.
