Little Giant

2018 bay Colonial Spanish Horse colt, WMT 14.2hh

Unknown x Sombra

Ranch Versatility Prospect

Genetics: EE/Aa

Strain: Cerbat (Wild Caught)

Sherman was born in a holding pen a few months after his mother was caught off the Cerbat range in Arizona. Though he was not born on the range the wild runs strong in his veins and he is a force to be reckoned with when he wants. He is our little wild child and he brings a fantastic energy to the barn and whatever task he is working on. Sherman is also incredibly intelligent so once his dam trusted us he was quick to trust us too and even quicker to pick up what we were teaching him. He was haltered within an hour of bringing it out and leading relatively well within a day. Sherman is wild and sometimes unruly but he also seems to truly enjoy being with people so he is still relatively easy to train and work with. Once he was leading nicely we decided to start desensitizing him to anything and everything and he took all that we threw at him like a seasoned pro. Everything from a beachball to the always scary tarp and plastic bag on a stick, this little colt stayed brave through it all. His brave and intelligent attitude coupled with the agility we see while he is playing in the pasture and the fact that he already seems to track the calves in the ajoining pasture made us immediately think ranch horse for this energetic wild child. He is everything we could want in a young Colonial Spanish Horse and I can't wait to see where this youngster goes as he ages and starts really competing.
