Narcissa Interagro

2016 grey Puro Sangue Lusitano mare, WMT 16hh

Divisadero Interagro x Calendula Interagro (Quixote Interagro)

Competing in Walk/Trot Working Equitation

Rita was purchased from Interagro after we saw her pedigree because we were absolutely in love with her lines. From day one she is everything we could have hoped for when we chose her.  She is definitely on the hotter side and she is not one of the horses that we can leave for even a day and come back without any kind of long lining to get her attention and focus first. Once you've got her focus she is still hot but she is willing to work and insanely intelligent so she picks up on things lightening fast. Once you add her sensitivity in she can be a bit of a handful but with the right handler who can channel all that and keep a level head she is a fantastic partner to have. She hasn't yet had a rider on her back but we've started slowly introducing tack and so far as long as things are introduced slowly and she is given the chance to figure things out she takes it beautifully. What we are focusing on most with her is manners and channeling her energy and intelligence into something productive rather than being a troublemaker. When she's not working she lives out in the pastures during the day and only comes in when necessary. Her pasture mates are a group of other 2yo fillies and a pair of older mares to teach the youngsters equine manners and Rita likes to think she is the top of her little herd though the older mares are very good about keeping her in her place. Rita is definitely a hot mare and she can be difficult but she has the potential to be a truly fantastic Working Equitation horse due to her athleticism, intelligence, and energy. Though we are currently focusing on her future in the competition ring we are already planning on adding her to the breeding program in the future based on her build and pedigree as well as her potential in the ring. When you first look at Rita you can tell she's and though she may not be the prettiest and most feminine mare but she is beautifully built with strong bones and musculature that give her her beautiful gaits and athleticism. Her pedigree is the original reason we purchased her and so far she is everything we could have hoped for from her lines. Being sired by Interagro's fantastic young Stallion Divisadero Interagro and out of a beautiful daughter of Quixote Interagro so she's got the pedigree to back up her quality. With everything she has going for her Rita has all the potential to be a fantastic show and breeding mare in the future.

Breeding

Genetics: ee/Aa/Gg

Explanation: Rita can only produce red based horses unless bred to a stallion with at least one dominant extension which would then give her the ability to produce bay or black based foals as well. She is heterozygous for the grey gene as well which means her foals have a 50% chance of inheriting it as well.
